The rain just about held off on the first Northcliffe Society Golf event of the year which took place at the magnificent Moor Park Golf Club.
This year the society has reduced the number of fixtures in attempt to improve the numbers at each event, and with 34 golfers in the morning playing for the Viscountess Rothermere Trophy the reduced number of fixtures seems to of paid off.
The winner of the Viscountess Rothermere Trophy was Steve O’Meara, who came in with a very impressive 40pt.
In second place, with 38pts, was Rob Copps, a great performance from a relative newcomer to the society.
Other prize winners included:
- Third place went to David Defroand – 35pt
- Nearest the pin 3rd hole – Mike Creaby
- Nearest the pin in 3 shots on 9th hole – Joe Marvel
- Nearest the pin on 18th – Barry Theobald
- 9-hole Texas Scramble winners: Alex Rose, Will Flint, Keith Cottington and Brian Lamb
