The Northcliffe Golfing Society enjoyed its annual outing to the far reaches of Kent to drink beer and play some golf against our old friends at North Foreland GC.
The match was lost by 8 to 5, but who remembers the result when we had such a great time catching up with the North Foreland team, ably led by Tina Kemp.
North Foreland were the perfect hosts, firstly on the sun-drenched course, which was in superb condition, and later over an excellent carvery dinner in the clubhouse dining room.
Promises were made to return for revenge next year, but with the overall score at 17-12 in the home team’s favour, we will all need to practice our golf more keenly than identifying which hostelry serves the best pint.
It was well past midnight when we said goodnight to the Dolphin, not bad for a Sunday in sleepy Broadstairs!
