July saw the Northcliffe Golf Society return to one of its favourite venues, the brilliant Berkshire Golf Club.
With glorious weather and the course in immaculate condition, all groups enjoyed a fantastic day of golf, resulting in some truly excellent scoring.
Congratulations to the winners of the Chairman’s Summer fixture. Society Captain Joe Marvell, ably supported by NGS stalwarts Craig Fawcett and Will Flint, alongside debutant Ross Robertson, claimed the top prize with an outstanding score of 90 points.
Securing a close second place with a superb 87 points was the team of Steve O’Meara, Chigs Bhagani, and their guests, Rory Davis and Dino Ziccardo. Third place went to the team of John Tucker, Lee Terry, Barry Theobald and Ben Todd to round out the prize winners.
Well done also to our ‘Nearest the Pin’ winners for their accuracy on the day:
- 2nd hole: Jack Barham
- 5th hole: Phil Barber
- 10th and 18th hole: Barry Theobald (a brilliant double!)
As always, our special thanks go to the Chairman for his continued support of the Society and to everyone at The Berkshire for hosting a wonderful day. Thank you also to all the players and organisers whose efforts made the event a resounding success.
We look forward to our next fixture on September 13th for the annual North Foreland match, followed by the Northcliffe Cup at Prince’s Golf Club on September 14th. Details will be sent out nearer the time. See you all there!
