WITH West Hill Golf Club looking as resplendent as ever, 23 golfers battled it out for the right to be crowned The Rothermere Challenge Cup 2025 champion.
The weather held relatively firm for us and the course provided a stern test to all with testing par threes and meandering par fours.
Barry Theobald continued a rich vein of form to score 34 points and finish in 4th place. A point ahead of Nick Payne in 3rd with 35 points who was pipped on countback by Tristan Newton into 2nd place.
The clear winner on the day, playing in the last group with last year’s champion, Craig Fawcett, was Mail Metro Media’s Stephen O’Meara who triumphed with a magnificent 37 points playing off a 15 handicap.
Nearest the pins were won by Nick Payne on the 7th hole and Criag Fawcett on the 13th.
It was brilliant to see colleagues from across the business on the day and well done to all the winners.
The next fixture sees the Society return to its spiritual Christmas home at The Berkshire on Tuesday 9th of December.
