Members of the NGS were warmly welcomed by North Foreland Golf Club for the 29th annual clash on the land previously owned by Daily Mail founder Lord Northcliffe.
A total of 24 NGS players made the journey to the beautiful coastal down of Broadstairs in Kent, although 4 of those golfers were loaned to North Foreland.
Despite the threat of stormy weather, it was a hugely successful day for the NGS who delivered a storming 7-3 win.
There was also a change of format with the formal dinner replaced by sandwiches and chips in the bar afterwards.
As is tradition, the ‘Stand Up Sit Down’ shaming exercise went ahead in favour of the NGS – for a change.
The overall score for this important and historic fixture now stands at 17 – 12 in favour of North Foreland.
Well done to all those who played in what was a most enjoyable day.
