It was Gone With The Wind at Princes Golf Club as the High Winds in Sandwich made the golf extremely challenging.
Although it stayed dry, scoring was tough, and the 30 points scored by Barry Theobald and Keith Cottington was an Excellent Adventure in the circumstances.
The Twins could not be separated on a 9-hole countback, and it took counting back over 6 holes for Barry to pip Keith by a single point.
Steve Sharp’s 27 points was enough for 3rd place. Joe Marvell did a Supermarket Sweep on the champagne, with both the nearest pin on the 14th par 3 and nearest the 17th par 4 in two shots.
New member Amit Patel enjoyed himself on his NGS debut, and despite the general low scores, said “I’ll Be Back!”.
