WEST HILL is our next fixture, TUESDAY, October 26,  before we end the year at the Christmas Scramble at The Berkshire on Monday, November 16.

Like so many great golf courses we play during the year, West Hill is exceptional. The course is one of Surrey’s oldest golfing gems that is consistently featured in the top 100 golf course listings.

This stunning heathland course, designed in 1907, is lined with towering Scots pines with “The brook of Brookwood” meandering its way through the course, coming into play on six different holes.

Once you reach the greens you then face some of the most challenging natural undulations you could ever play in a wonderful test of your golf.

If this is not enough to tempt you, we are able to keep the £65 cost to the same as last year, and includes your green fee, bacon roll with tea or coffee before play, a 3-course carvery lunch, Champagne for “Nearest the Pin” plus prizes for the winners.

For an extra £5 a time enter the “Back the Winner” competition with the chance of paying for the day’s golf…….. if you select the right player to win the main trophy!

There was only one person who backed Keith Cottington to win at the last Royal Cinque Ports fixture.  It wasn’t trophy winner Keith who could have backed himself but like so many previous winners didn’t fancied his chances but Craig Fawcett thought he was a good bet and scooped the kitty, taking home £80.

We are limited to 30 players at West Hill and with a good turnout expected,  get your booking confirmed early to avoid disappointment.

TO HELP SPEED UP PLAY AS SUGGESTED BY R & A

if your ball is lost in the rough or heather, drop at the nearest point of relief under a one-shot penalty.

Drop the ball from Knee High otherwise it is a penalty!

When putting, the flag can remain in the hole. Bunkers are back in play and a decision on “Winter Rules” on the fairways will be known on the day.

Hit a tee shot if the person with the honour is delayed in being ready to play.

Hit a shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball.

Putting out even if it means standing close to someone else’s ball.

Mark scores upon immediate arrival at the next tee, except that the first player to tee off marks their card immediately after teeing off.
