It’s been a long wait but we are now finally starting our 2020 fixtures at Walton Heath, one of the country’s premier golf courses, on Monday, June 22,

We are very lucky to have such a great relationship with the Club that they have agreed to allow the day to go ahead, but it will be a completely different competition, unlike anything we have ever held before.

The cost of the day will be £85 and this has been subsidised by £30 from our funds.  To qualify for this subsidised payment you must have paid your annual subs of £50.  If you need to add the £20 difference to make up this year’s subs to the £50 then please add it to your payment.

This is what has been agreed with the Club so that the day can go ahead.  All players must observe the social distancing of keeping 2-metres apart.

There will be one round on the “Old Course” with a 9 a.m. start in 4 x Balls. Bacon rolls and tea/coffee in plastic cups will be served before play from the Clubhouse terrace and taken with players to the 1st tee. A BBQ will be served to each group of 4 players from the Clubhouse terrace after the game and you should then leave the premises so there are no large groups of players. There will be no prize-giving which will be organised at a later event.

The Clubhouse, Bar and locker rooms will be closed but toilets will be open.   Players should arrive 15-20 minutes before allotted tee-times and change shoes in the car park.  The Pro Shop will be closed and there will be no scorecards available so download the card either off our website or from the Club’s website.

If it helps each 4xBall can use one scorecard with all player’s names and scores but individuals cards can also be kept.  At the end of the round after scorecards have been checked and agreed, details/photo of the results should be emailed to me.

We will be playing for the “President’s Trophy”, won last year by Society Captain Nick Stevens.

The usual afternoon competition for the “Lady Rothermere Trophy” will be transferred to the extra fixture this year at the welcome return to Tandridge in September.

There will be a “Back the Winner” Competition but all monies must be paid online by the evening before, either added to the £85 cost of the day or separately.   I will circulate the names of all players in good time for you to make your “winning” selections.

All payments must be paid direct to the Society’s Bank Account, there will be no cash payments on the day. The Society Bank details are:  Lloyds Bank, Sort code 30-92-45, Account no. 01571241

This year the Committee have decided to cancel the annual Match Play knockout competition but Walton Heath will count towards the Order of Merit along with The Berkshire, Northwood, Royal Cinque Ports, Tandridge and West Hill. (Because of weather delays and the virus, the final of last year’s Match Play competition has still to be played) .

Any changes to the Government’s Social Distancing and I will circulate details.

*The Next fixture will be played at The Berkshire on Monday, July 13, with one round of golf on the Blue Course.
