Welcome to the start of the 2019 season and what a great golfing year there is in store. We have a brilliant fixture list and, with the fund raising at our meetings, they are all tremendous value for money.

We start with THE GROVE in March, followed by the Old and New courses at WALTON HEATH in May. June sees “Captain’s Day” and July we are at The BERKSHIRE, playing both the Red and Blue courses; then NORTHWOOD in August; NORTH FORELAND and ROYAL CINQUE PORTS early September and finally WEST HILL in October.

What a mouth-watering selection for any golfer and then there are the regular matches.

The first “match” of the season, against the Press Golfing Society, is at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake. The Club is the second oldest seaside Golf links course in England and will be celebrating its 125 anniversary when we play. This is an invitation event as team numbers are limited but all are welcome to play in the annual match against North Foreland Golf Club at the beginning of September, played the day before our fixture at Royal Cinque Ports, Deal.

The  INTER-COMPANY competition has been rescheduled from June to September for a much welcomed return to Hardelot and we end the year with the icing on the Christmas Cake, the “CHRISTMAS SCRAMBLE” played on the Red course at THE BERKSHIRE.

Mark the dates down firmly in the diary, you don’t really want to miss playing any of these wonderful courses.

The Grove fixture sees the start of the annual “ORDER OF MERIT” competition with the top four players at the end of the season then taking part in a play-off for the “Golfer of the Year” trophy.

This competition is not won on the points scored at golf days, but the total of your best 3 finishing positions during the year and is free to enter.

The draw also takes place at The Grove for the MATCH PLAY knock-out competition, again free to enter, with matches played during the year either at your local course or at our golf fixtures.

If you want to enter the Match Play but cannot play at the first fixture at The Grove when the draw takes place, email Garth Burden
