“Double Header” at North Foreland and Royal Cinque Ports
This is our “Double Header” fixture at North Foreland, Sunday, Sept 1 and Royal Cinque Ports, Deal, the following day, Monday Sept 2
You do not have to play both courses, the choice is yours, but as so many travel down for the annual match at North Foreland, we now link this fixture with our day at Royal Cinque Ports.
The North Foreland match is always a great day of golf on a wonderful course steeped in Northcliffe History, followed by a prize-giving dinner in the Clubhouse.
There is always a very warm welcome for everyone at the Club with so many friends being made over the years that this match has taken place. Check out their website to see what a golfing treat awaits us. http://www.northforeland.co.uk
The draw for tees and opponents takes place in the upstairs bar in the Clubhouse, at around 11.45/Noon. The cost of the day is £35 per person and this includes the golf, tea, coffee and sandwiches from 11.30 am, Champagne for Nearest the Pin on all Par 3 holes plus longest drives with wine included at the prize-giving dinner. Full details of the day will be sent out to all those who sign up.
ROYAL CINQUE PORTS – MONDAY, Sept 2
Royal Cinque Ports, Deal, is one of the best links courses in the country, with undulating fairways, amazing greens hidden among massive grass covered sand dunes and bunkers the likes of which are unique for this type of course. Check out their website www.royalcinqueports.com for full details.
We are playing one round for the Northcliffe Cup with members paying £75 and guests £110. This includes coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, a carvery lunch, prize-giving and Champagne for Nearest the Pin.
The Club has strict dress rules so it’s jacket and tie for the prize–giving meal. There is no need for me to tell you anything else about our day at Royal Cinque Ports, just go to their website to see what a golfing treat this will be.
We are very fortunate to be able to book this course for one of our golf days and I need to give confirmed numbers to the Club as soon as possible so do let me know if you are planning to play and if you will also be playing in the annual match at North Foreland.
There is a £52 “roll-over” in the “2’s” competition from the last fixture as no player managed to score a two on the tricky greens at Northwood, so make sure your putter is red hot on the day to try and win the kitty that will total around £100. Last year at Royal Cinque Ports, there was only one player who managed a “2”
