Golf is off the diary because of the November covid-19 restrictions, which means the “Christmas Scramble fixture” is cancelled.

The play-off final for the Golfer of the Year award for 2019, also due to be played in the November lockdown has had to be cancelled, having been delayed by the weather with snow at the start of the year and then covid-19. Both the 2019 and this year’s final will now take place in 2020 subject to golf returning to normal service.

An important part of the Christmas Scramble, the  fund raising auction that helps subsidise ever increasing green fee charges at fixtures, will now be an on-line fund raising auction…….despite not having the added humour of auctioneer, Society Chairman, Vyvyan Harmsworth.

All items will help with the funds and the full list of donations will be circulated on Monday, Nov 16, the date which would have been The Berkshire “Christmas Scramble” and will close on Friday,  November 20. Part of the money raised to be donated to a charity to be decided at the Society AGM early in December.

MEMBERS ARE ASKED TO EMAIL ANY AUCTION ITEMS TO SECRETARY, GARTH BURDEN. gpburden@ntlworld.com
